Why The JoS Could Never Deliver The Magnum Opus

In chapter 8 of the 1st book of The Book of Satan we read the following statement:

The Book of Satan I The True Philosophy of Satan wrote:Now you know the truth about these symbols and what their real meanings are. Because you have been enlightened you can easily differentiate between real Satanists and frauds. Anyone using an upright pyramid and claiming to be Satanic is playing you for a fool and doesn’t know much about the occult.

When one navigates to the Joy of Satan website it is clear to see that there is an upright pyramid structure. They claim that there are no mediators in Satanism, but by their actions, we can know them. The clergy is set up to be the highest and their word is the law.

In the sermons on the Joy of Satan website, we can see that people are set up to venerate what is known as “The Gods” instead of looking to themselves for answers. This sets people up to depend on a higher authority and instills a slave mentality. True freedom comes from being independent.

Why is this relevant? In my previous sermon where I unpacked the symbolism behind the T4S logo, I mention that the eye of Lucifer, the Sigil of Lucifer and the reversed pentagram are all related. The primary triangle within the sigil of Lucifer is also the eye of Lucifer (inverted pyramid).

One interpretation of this symbolism is that only those who look to themselves are worthy of drinking from the chalice. The Magnum Opus can only be achieved by those who place their faith in themselves and worship themselves. As the Joy of Satan sets people up to look to the clergy and the Gods for answers, they can't deliver this knowledge. If they do it will result in losing power over their followers.

In Chapter 6 of the Book of Satan we read:

The Book of Satan I The True Philosophy of Satan wrote:Satanists realize the vital importance of individuals in a free world. Role models that show by example what it means to be free are what is needed most in the battle against tyranny, slavery, and oppression. Satanism acknowledges the power of the individual.

This is why we stress the importance of freedom at the T4S. The ministry doesn’t belong to us but instead belongs to our members. When we founded the T4S forum we made a point of it to limit the power and moderation capabilities of the admins as much as possible. Here the power resides within our membership itself.

We encourage people to be their own masters, this is stated in chapter 11 of the 1st book of The Book of Satan:

The Book of Satan I The True Philosophy of Satan wrote:The next thing that people are concerned about is what this implies about the author of this book and the T4S clergy. Shouldn’t the clergy be seen as an authority because they are presenting this doctrine and teaching? The answer is no, we are not an authority over you, and we don’t want to be seen as your guiding light or shepherd.
The message that is taught in this book is self-evident and anyone who has freed their minds has already found it without reading our doctrine. The T4S clergy is not above you, we are not your leaders, it is not our place to tell you what to think or believe. We are merely presenting the self-evident truth that man is higher than God.

We know that only once an individual breaks away from the herd and tyrannical control structure can they truly be free. Once they do this, they can successfully start on the job of completing the transmutation of the soul into gold. Everything that you need for the transmutation has always been inside you, and you never need to look to an authority or anyone else for guidance
