Managing Emotional States

Post by HPSZolaLuckyStar »

So what does one do, when you're feeling out of sorts, depressed, angry, fearful? When that small winged thing, hope, seems gone? What can we do to mitigate depression and anxiety?

The thing is, that we all are feeling this way a lot these days. Current reality has fostered a lot of depression and negative energy for us.

So what can we do? How can we mitigate it?

Well, the you operating this vehicle (physical body) is kind of a ghost in the machine. You type things into your consciousness, hit enter and it manifests. Kind of the way words do on a page in a computer. Thoughts flash through our awareness like a school of fish, we latch onto one and it gets entered. If its negative self talk, whats the emotion generated? Depression, sadness.

And the thing is, while it's our right to feel however we do, and one might feel entitled to feel hate or fear or what have you...in the end it's a choice.

And so this is what and why void meditation can help a lot with how we are, what energy we choose to align with and manifest. And one of the best ways I personally know is to simply stop and observe yourself. Really pay attention to what thoughts you're typing into that machine, about to hit enter....and decide: do I want this?

You can choose to just let it pass. Because it will. Thoughts come and they go. It's what we choose to dwell on, the ones we allow in, to feel them that hits that enter button...and the thought becomes manifest, becomes a thing. I do think that we are capable of manifesting our own 'hell' or 'heaven'.

So we can choose what we manifest. When you shift this energy, you can literally shift the world around you. This is why athletes spend time physically practicing and time visualizing themselves doing their sport successfully. It's shown to raise the results.

You're driving. Some jerk cuts you off, you call them every name in the book, think about doing them some violence....you can choose to act on that or choose to let it pass, let it go.

Allow those angry, fearful, lonely etc thoughts to leave without latching onto them. Breathe. Observe the thoughts leave. Practice consciousness awareness in what thoughts you allow yourself to entertain. When you catch one trying to get in, consciously restrain from latching onto it, let it pass. You'll find at first, it's a lot of work, requires conscious effort. You'll also experience resistance.

That's the monkey. Sitting down to meditate? It'll go on about how this is stupid, lets go do this, do that instead, call so and so....Trying to do yoga? You might hear something like: I feel so stupid doing this! You're so clumsy – this is dumb! I hate this! Let's go get a drink, something to eat....

It will try it's best to overwhelm you to give up, give in and go along with what it wants. Because then it's the one in the drivers seat, hitting the enter button, manifesting things (emotions, situations) through you.

This is something we possess that is extremely powerful. It's like a powerful supercomputer combined with an engine. Put in a command; it'll believe and do. Your conscious will/thought interacts with this engine to create material reality. Everything we see around us began with a thought that somebody input into the engine and made it reality. I think people have no conscious awareness of how powerful they are. And instead of a real consciousness sitting at the controls, oftentimes we suffer the input coming from a raging, leaping, reactionary beast.

Either way, it works according to whomever is in the control seat, inputting the commands.

That beast isn't you. The real you is the quiet observer in the far back of the head. Not that monkey mind. It's funny; they tell us we come from monkeys. I remember being taught in school we descended from apes and how angry this claim made me. I knew it was a lie (years later I learn that in fact, darwin's view was not popular with his peers).

The negative farmer ETs who have turned us into hypnotized slaves make use of this ability. We're fed what to think. Thoughts become things, remember....we are programmed to believe and we do, thus materialize the reality they want. They think we're stupid beasts. A resource to be used and abused. They actually hate us. I wonder if it's out of envy? Because they can't feel, can't create.

Perhaps this is why we're encouraged to use the monkey mind. Live free die young. Don't meditate, don't think about anything deeply, be a goldfish. Don't think. Obey. Consume. Don't think critically.

Is it a kind of freudian slip they teach we evolved out of monkeys? Or a kind of synchronicity? Because while we aren't, we do have an inner beast, a surface consciousness I think of as the monkey mind. There's two forms of consciousness in our heads. So how to get a handle of this? There is something called void meditation.

The benefit of this is to silence the surface consciousness (the monkey). Once quieted, the calm observer (real you) has space to come forward, to settle into the operators chair. This is the one we need to have in control if we want to be fully in command, powerful and sovereign.

This is the real you. We're not the labels the world heaped upon us, or ones we've taken in and on.

There are many things that make up the totality of this being you know as yourself in this moment...you are a brother, a sister, husband, wife, etc. But is this you? Your eternal spirit, the animating force that exists independent of local reality is something more than, something that transcends labels. We do not know ourselves. I think part of the reason you may want to consider meditation practice is to begin to do so.

Sometimes the beast can be helpful. But not when it's the one in constant control. When seeking to connect internally, it tends to get in the way. So the trick is to silence it.

Part of the ability to shut it up is an ability to calm down, focus on the breath, focus attention on right now. This focussing of attention is exactly what a warrior on a battlefield would do. Its what a yogin will tell you to do on the mat. The only moment is the one before you. Observe, your breath, your thoughts, watching them drift in and out, allowing them to pass. No fear about tomorrow, feelings of loss over what's gone, only this now. And you are here, alive, in it. Focus on the breath, see it as it enters the body.

This is the same focus intended for yoga. It's what yoga actually is for. Some people approach yoga as an hours exercise, like you might spend time in a gym, doing calisthenics or lifting weights or something. But yoga isn't that. And it doesn't matter if the person next to you is a human pretzel who makes you feel like a big heifer.

It's not about who is prettiest or best at the asanas. It's about focussing the mind and the breath. And what happens is, you become aware of energy that was always there, but you weren't paying attention to it before. It's like opening a door. As the inner peace and quiet steals over you, you'll feel so connected, so grounded.

And the energy begins to shift. You'll feel it moving. You have found the zone, the focus. The monkey mind goes to sleep in the face of this. As it falls silent, you'll know you've made the shift from L brain to R. When this happens, as all goes blessedly still, you will experience many things such as a feeling of peace, joy, love, happiness, contentment. You'll experience feelings of knowingness. You'll experience insights, intuitions, messages from other realms. You'll receive downloads of information, assistance in the form of knowing what you need to be doing, inspiration in how to go about doing something, memories.

This is a great time to now focus on positive thoughts or affirmations. Focus on love. Loving yourself. The potentiality of the God that lies within. How awesome it is. You're protected. You're blessed. You're loved.

You'll feel energy shifting around you and within you. That energy was always there; it's a part of you. Experience that energy. Become aware of it, get in tune with it. You're more than a physical body. This life is more than the struggle to survive. This is void.

Yoga is a good way to begin. I like it because it's a moving meditation and I hate to sit still. Some people love sitting still. But that doesn't work for me. And thats ok. we're not all the same. Find what works for you, then DO it.

That's the other part of the equation. Taking the action. Getting on that mat. Making an effort to control the thoughts one entertains. Choosing to work on yourself. It's a sacrifice.

By the time that hour on the mat is done, you'll feel so much more...clear. You'll probably be hungry, too. It's best to eat after your practice, not before.

Even simply going for a walk in the park can become a moving meditation. It's all about focus.

Cultivate the warriors focus.

I remember working on my tarot deck and the manager then, he was standing watching me and eventually my focus opened enough that I became aware of him. I said hi to him. He said: You know, that's a quality of yours I really envy. I asked what do you mean? He said: You have the most incredible ability to focus. When you're working on something, nothing else exists. It's amazing. I could stand beside you, wave my arms or call your name, and you literally won't hear me!
I demurred but he said no, its true. I wish I could focus like that.

I know about The Wall. That's something artists experience, what we call it. In order to hit The Zone, (which means finding that timeless focus) – you have to first get through The Wall.

I think part of the wall is definitely the doing of that darned monkey. Because it always wants the focus on itself.

It wants to be in the operators chair, putting in the commands, hitting enter. Being the one who gets to manifest. It will resist your attempts to shift energy so when you try to focus, it's like hitting a wall. It's hard to settle down. The monkey is blocking you.

When the monkey throws something to you, like tossing the end of a rope, rather than picking it up (metaphorically speaking), allow the words to settle, to drift. Watch them float out again, then re-focus your attention (energy) on the thing you're working on.

That might be a piece of art, it could be doing an asana. It could be the simple act of placing one foot in front of the other, while watching your breath. When you walk with purpose, it's a moving meditation. Doing it in nature adds more benefit. But it could even be when you're cleaning the bathroom. Whatever. It's all in the focus.

We can be tossed hither and yon, allowing the monkey to drive us about believing it's our own idea, think this is our life, nothing we can do, no control, focus on negative energies and states of mind, to our own unhappiness and misery.

Or we can take control of the monkey, that beast that dwells within, gentle it, settle it down so the real you can come forward, be in the captains seat. It's a choice. Free will. What energy will you choose to entertain? Then you decide what you manifest. You make things happen, they don't just happen to you. You'll feel grounded and clear.

And a lot of the sadness, the depression will lift.
Satanism is not about taking your God away from you;
It's about freeing you to be your own God.

This man is talking about the same thing: observation and action. Self mastery, investing the effort and time to advance oneself and how you are not the labels: like rich or poor.

Satanism is not about taking your God away from you;
It's about freeing you to be your own God.
