On Baphomet

My interpretation of Baphomet is still yet to be put into writing, but this is me talking about my past usages of it.

The first time I spoke of Baphomet I was talking about The Satanic Temple's use of Baphomet as a reconciliation of opposites. I don't exactly disagree with this idea. But I would like to say that if you would like more information on TST's well understanding, I highly recommend the 2019 documentary, Hail Satan?

Then the next time I used it, I was talking about the Aspects of Satan in the United Aspects of Satan's philosophical understanding. For more on that, I recommend The Satanic Narratives by Damien Baal.

The observation for reconciliation of opposites is completely correct and is also found in the Kabbala tree of life (which Baphomet is based on). This is explained by Eliphas Levi, Baphomet's illustrator.

Thelemic Holy Season

" Each of the twenty-two days of the Thelemic Holy Season — from March 20 through April 10 — is attributed by us to one of the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet. It is recommended that each aspirant, on each of these days, prominently display the corresponding Tarot Trump, and conduct such other meditation, ritual, or other recognition of the principle as he or she may see fit. In the tabulation below are also given recommended readings from the Sacred Writings for each day of the holy season.

On the night before the Vernal Equinox, closing the old year (usually March 19), it is recommended that the aspirant read The Prologue of the Unborn from Liber VII and meditate on the release of the concluding cycle.

On March 20, the Invocation of Horus (The Supreme Ritual) may be performed to celebrate the anniversary of the Equinox of the Gods. The following readings (most, but not all, of which are from Class A Documents, the so-called "Holy Books of Thelema") are then recommended for each of the 22 days.

Appropriation and Defamation

The Occult to me is appropriation of all past, present, and future religion, spirituality, traditions, and philosophies.

I was on discord the other day reading through a pdf archive and was in the main “discussion channel”. In that channel the people had been talking about how because they weren’t Jewish, they couldn’t practice Kabbalah and that things like Qabbala and Cabbalah where disgusting cultural appropriation. But is that not how culture is built? By appropriation of the past so that the future can have more.

I may not be of Jewish origin but I find Kabbalistic philosophy and practice unique and worth looking into and trying for my own benefit.

Appropriation (so long as it’s not Defaming) is central for any cultural ideas to survive. Judaism obviously appropriated Zoroastrianism and the old Pagans and Romans, so it’s only furthering the tradition that I as a Satanist, an occultist, and knowledge seeker try out everything and take what works best for me.

I think the structure of a system can be used as in how creation comes into manifestation. Unfortunately my stance on Jewish Judaism is a turn off because of it's links to Christianity which I want nothing to do with it. So no one knows anything original. Unfortunately.
