Here's an interesting but slightly dark Japanese song I found about comfortably deceitful spirits (English subtitles are available):

Hmm, well... I don't like it as much. It's not my cup of tea. How are you anyway?

I think its interesting though I'm not a fan of the anime illustrative style. I think its the childlike look of the characters. The big eyes. That said some of it is lovely. There is a refreshing innocence and purity in it.

However, what IS particularly interesting (to me) is the cosplay fans. They really get into it!

Its an interesting artform and expression all on its own. I think the motivation behind cosplay (though unconscious) is a true and authentic human desire and need for the magical and the extra dimensional. A desire for a larger reality, one in which they are not alone in a cold and uncaring universe. In other words, there is an unconscious desire being expressed to break out of that cold mechanistic world and universe view/paradigm the enemy has placed us in as part of their mind, soul and body trap for millenia.

What does an abuser do? One of the first things they do is isolate the victim. Humanity has been isolated on this planet for a very long time. So I see this cosplay thing as an expression of wanting deeper meanings, connections, to other realities where there is magic, mystery, other intelligent species to interact with and freedom to just be who they want to be. And thats a healthy thing.

So while some people might dismiss cosplay as stupid or wasting their time...I don't see it that way. I look forward to their reactions when they discover they are NOT alone in this universe and the reality of multiple dimensions and other intelligences!

I'm well, thank you. Astral projection has been going easier for me lately, so I try to substitute it for sleep when possible. Now it's like I get to live my physical life while awake, and a second life elsewhere while I'm asleep (several nights a week at least). There I can see a friend of mine whose physical body recently expired and others too, so it's nice. She doesn't want to reincarnate, but fortunately there's no rush in her case anyway, as her spirit lover looks after her and keeps her spirit safe.

It's also fun to meet up on that side with trusted online friends who can astral project, and see how our experiences line up. I'm used to it by now, but they often tell me it's precious to them to have the things they experience "verified" by someone else like that, especially if they've been going at it alone up until now. Having learned from my past mistakes, I made sure to warn them to be mindful of how they frame their experiences though and stay grounded, but they're reasonable enough to know that anyway.

Besides the other world often warming my heart, my physical life is going well too. It's a lot more stable now and I'm happy about that. My mental health has improved too.

I don't like horror myself lol. I suppose what I like about the anime style is that it looks cute and often very colorful, so it's pleasing to the eyes. Spiritual themes are also much more common than in Western media, due to the Japanese culture being so different. But it really depends; as with Western films and cartoons, there's a really wide variety.

Coincidentally, I've started getting into cosplay myself lately. Did you know that it's hard to come by good costumes, so a lot of people end up making their own? A lot of dedication goes into it! As you described, for me the appeal is heavily related to my spiritual experiences; it's about expressing even things which aren't in this world.

It's a topic I'd been curious about for 8 years at this point, but never had the courage to explore since I was too judgemental. I thought: "It's childish pretend, what's the point?" But ever since I resolved a problem with my solar chakra, my views have begun to shift to not make an issue out of harmless things, and ultimately my mentor's encouraging words made me wonder: "What's the harm in doing things that seem fun, just because they seem fun?"

He said a big part of spirituality is just learning who you are and coming to terms with it, and that people feeling free to do the things they like is a good thing. He said it isn't bad for people to have fun or be happy.

When I finally tried it, it felt fun and comfortable, and I wondered: why did I think it was such a big deal that I refrained from even trying it for 8 whole years? I laughed, and oddly enough I even feel more comfortable with myself since then, despite cosplay not being something I do often at all, and only in private. It's just like something in my mind that changed, like the idea that it's okay to acknowledge feelings, have fun, and do things without logically justifying them, and I'm happier for it. :)
